This Intermediate level workshop will be an extension and application of the basic watercolor techniques taught in the Beginner "Fun with Watercolor" workshop. Using these basic techniques in watercolor as a springboard, students will explore more challenging approaches and concepts. A series of exercises and demonstrations will enable each student to better understand how to develop a painting.

During these 8 weeks there will be a greater emphasis on the principles of composition; understanding perspective; painting "loose" and "tight"; painting the human figure; creating various textures in nature; how to paint your pet; painting florals, still lifes, and landscapes. There will be a planned exercise to be painted in common each week. However, if a student has a favorite subject they would like to explore, it is suggested that they bring photos of it to class for evaluation and coaching.

The goal of the class will be to learn and explore while completing a variety of weekly exercises. Students will be led through each exercise along with the instructor and given personal coaching when needed.
